How to Make Fried Pickles for Your Superbowl Party
It’s about that time of year when the best teams in the country come together to throw down for the best football game of the year! Yep, it’s almost Superbowl time!
If you plan to host a Superbowl bash this year, you know you have to load up on some great appetizers for the gang. We are going to start off our list this year with one of my favorites, Fried Pickles – YUMMO!

Fried Pickles
Ingredients:
- 1 quart jar of bread and butter pickle chips
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup of buttermilk
- 2 eggs beaten
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- Oil
- 1 teaspoon of kosher salt
- Pepper to taste (use a lot!)
- 1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
Directions:
- Preheat fryer to 350 degrees
- Drain pickles and pat dry with paper towels
- Combine flour, cornmeal, salt and pepper
- In separate bowl, combine the eggs and milk
- Whisk in flour and Cajun seasoning
- Dip the pickles into the wet mixture; then dredge to coat in dry mixture
- Fry until golden brown
- Drain on paper towels
Dipping Sauce
Ingredients:
- 1/4 teaspoon of Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of spicy mustard
- 1/4 cup of ketchup
- 1 cup of mayonnaise
- Couple dashes of hot sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/4 cup of olive oil
- 1/4 cup of chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
- Pepper to taste
- Juice of 1/2 a lemon
Directions:
- Place all ingredients in a blender and process until well mixed
- Store in fridge
