How to Make Wedding Candy | DIY Wedding Favors
Want to make your wedding extra special? Make your own wedding favors!
Homemade wedding favors serve a couple of different purposes. Not only do they add to your wedding decorations, but they show your guests that you cared enough to make something from the heart, especially for them.
If you have some really great bridesmaids, I bet they will help you make these easy wedding candies. It’s a great way to relieve a little stress leading up to the big day, and you will feel so accomplished once you make your own candy!
Ingredients:
- 1 8 oz. package of softened cream cheese
- 2 pounds of powdered sugar
- Granulated sugar
- Candy molds
- Food coloring
- Flavoring, peppermint, almond, rum or vanilla extract
Directions:
- Blend cream cheese and powered sugar until smooth
- Add food coloring and flavoring
- Divide mixture into portions if you will be using more than one color or flavor
- Knead each portion until well blended and smooth
- Roll mixture into small balls and roll each ball in granulated sugar
- Press ball into candy mold, trimming off excess and continue until all molds are filled
- Layer molded candies in a box or pan, placing waxed paper between the layers
- Place in the freezer
- Candies can be frozen up to four months prior to use.
